Built Around a Real Gap in People's Lives
Samruay was established in Bangkok in 2016 after its founders noticed something missing from conversations about personal finance in Thailand: a clear, accessible place to learn about healthcare costs specifically — not as a footnote to retirement planning, but as a subject that deserves its own careful attention.
The name "Samruay" carries the Thai sense of ease and comfort in one's circumstances — a state of mind that comes not from avoiding difficult subjects, but from meeting them with clarity. That idea shapes everything about how our courses are designed and delivered.
We work primarily with adults over 40 who are beginning to think seriously about what the years ahead might look like — medically and financially. Our courses do not rush people or make them feel behind. They provide a steady foundation from which each participant can build a plan that fits their own situation.
Our Mission
To help adults in Thailand approach healthcare cost planning with understanding and calm — removing confusion from a topic that often causes unnecessary anxiety.
Our Vision
A Thailand where no adult enters their later years without a thoughtful understanding of what healthcare may cost — and some steps taken to prepare for it.
Our Values
Honesty over hype. Empathy over urgency. Education over persuasion. We believe people make better decisions when they feel respected and informed, not pressured.
The People Behind the Courses
Our team combines backgrounds in health economics, financial education, and adult learning — all with direct experience of the Thai healthcare system.
Pimchanok Wiriyarath
Former health economist with 15 years of experience in Thai public health policy. Designed the original healthcare cost estimation framework that underpins all three courses.
Nattawut Kijpaisarn
Licensed financial planner specialising in health-related savings and insurance for individuals over 40. Leads the individual advisory sessions in Courses 2 and 3.
Siriporn Angsuwat
Adult learning specialist with a background in health communication. Responsible for the tone, clarity, and structure of all learning materials across the Samruay curriculum.
How We Maintain Quality
Thailand Healthcare Expertise
All cost data, insurance information, and healthcare references are specific to the Thai system — including UCS, private hospital pricing, and regional variation.
Continuing Education Standards
Course materials are reviewed and updated annually to reflect changes in healthcare costs, insurance regulations, and tax law in Thailand.
Privacy & Data Protection
All participant information and advisory session content is handled in strict confidence. We comply with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
Small Group Sizes
Live sessions are capped to allow genuine interaction and personalised attention. Participants are never treated as an audience — they are active contributors.
Regulated Financial Guidance
Advisory sessions involving financial planning topics are delivered by registered and licensed practitioners in accordance with Thai financial regulations.
Participant Feedback Integration
Every course cycle includes structured feedback collection. Participant insights directly shape how courses evolve — not just for future learners, but for current ones.
Healthcare Cost Education in Thailand
Adults approaching their fifties and sixties in Thailand face a distinct set of considerations around healthcare access and expense. The country's healthcare landscape includes a robust universal coverage scheme alongside a private sector with considerable pricing variation. Navigating both — and understanding what each means for personal planning — requires specific knowledge that general financial courses rarely provide.
Samruay was created to address this gap directly. Based in Bangkok's Yan Nawa district, the organisation draws on deep familiarity with Thai healthcare systems, health insurance products, and the financial planning tools available to residents and long-term residents of Thailand. The focus on adults over 40 reflects an understanding that this life stage is often when healthcare cost awareness becomes both relevant and urgent.
The three-course curriculum takes a deliberate, unhurried approach. It starts with understanding — building a clear picture of what costs might look like — before moving into financial tool exploration and long-term strategy. Each stage can stand alone or work as part of a broader learning journey, depending on where each participant finds themselves when they begin.
